Ceramics has been in my family for at least four generations, starting with my great-grandmother
who ran a ceramics studio outside of St. Louis, Missouri. I was involved in pottery classes during
my childhood but rediscovered it in 2021 while taking a wheel throwing class at our local
cultural center. My foundation is in functional ceramics; I love being able to create art that
people can use in everyday life. I am always on a journey to develop new techniques, and have
enjoyed working in creating sculptural pieces, participating in alternative firings, and introducing
myself to new media. My appreciation of nature can be seen throughout my work.
